Six Miners HAve Been Killed In Plateau State By Suspected Fulani Militias (Photos)

 


Suspected Fulani militias killed six miners and injured two others in Wereng community, Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau state.

According to LIB: "the eight miners were hwaylaid at about 7:45pm on Thursday, April 15, on their way home from a mining site."

The names of the victims were given as, by the Emancipation Center for Crisis Victims in Nigeria (ECCVN),a non-governmental organisation based in Plateau :

(1) Chuwang Williams, 29years with 3 children, (2) Bulus Danbom, 41years, (3) Peter Williams, 39years with 3 children., (4) Dung Gyang, 60years, (5).Dachung Gara, 44years with 5 children, (6) Davou Dachung, 45years with 4 children.

"We njust returned from mining site that is relatively far from Wereng, and so we decided to have a little rest before proceeding to our respective home. Unknown to us, armed Fulani were coming after us. Not long after the rest in a refreshment home, I heard sporadic gunshots at close range, everyone started running out for his or her dire life. On trying to escape, I was shot on my scrotum and immediately fall down pretending to had died in order not to be shot again" - Davou Jatau

Davou Jatau alongside with Gyang Jatau survived with fatal injuries and are currently receiving medical care at Vom Christian Hospital.

DAvou Ratau responded in an interview with ECCVN an narrated how the sad event took place.
