Polytechnic Lecturers Begin Indefinite Strike Over New Salary Scheme

 


The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP)  declared an indefinite stike action yesterday 6 of April to press home their demand for the implementation of a new salary scheme kfor polytechnic lecturers.

According to the union the industrial action kicks off yesterday,Tuesday April 6.

The National President of ASUP ,Anderson Ezeibe made the declaration after an unsuccessful meeting with the Federal government.

The Union aside demanding for payment of new salary scheme,also demands the payment of salaries and promotion allowances owed lecturers by some state governments.

Ezeibe further made it known that the union is open for dialogue with The Federal Government to resolve the issues raised.
