Covid-19 : Not above the law : Army General,Islamic cleric arrested for flouting lockdown order in Kaduna



To curb the further spread of the dreaded covid-19 pandemic that has put the whole world in 'hold'.

The Federal government and state government had embarked on lockdown order since cases have been found in Nigeria (Kaduna) in a bid to curb the spread of the virus and find a possible cure to it.

On Monday,18th the Commissioner for justice,Aisha Dikko said after a army officer who was said to be dressed in full military uniform with three passengers without face masks were convicted for not complying with the stay at home other and wearing face masks.

"The general identified himself and said he was coming from Abuja and on a official duty.However, the court tried and convicted the three passengers, for not complying with the stay at home order and wearing face masks" - Aisha Dikko

"Rigachukun (cleric) and his son were however both charged for not wearing face masks and were fined N5000k each. In addition,the court asked the cleric to perform community service,by informingthe public on how to stop the spread of Covid-19." Aisha Dikko

"75  culprits have been convicted out of the 105 people who violated the lockdown order,residents are advised not to violate the lockdown order"
